Vintage Kitchen Items Repurposed
Kitchen items you never thought about up-cycling or repurposing.
Lets start with the original triangle cheese grater. Spray paint it in your favorite colour or leave it rustic and then use it to hang your earrings on, necklaces or bracelets on.
Colanders don't just have to be relegated to the kitchen. Turns out they can be a cute and versatile lighting option. Create a wall or pendant light, their perforated bases creating amazing patterns when switched on. Another option is a hanging outdoor planter, just had a coconut husk you can buy from a hardware store (they already have built in drainage holes) add dirt and your favourite potted plant.
Wooden rolling pins are a common kitchen item which get dented or damaged and dont roll like they used too. Dont throw them out consider repurposing them. Cut them in half and use them as hooks on a coat rack or to hang pots and pans off or even as a paper towel holder or tea towel rack.
What about old metal funnels? These have a great rustic looking and can be turned upside down and used as a candle holder. Allow the wax to drip down the sides creating an unusual waxy effect.
Old rusty, burnt or dented pots, pans and jam pans can be given a new lease on life and be used as planters in the garden or on a deck. Great sizes for growing potted plants, small veges and herbs and easily moved with handles already attached.
